Package Arrived

Hi! I received your package! [the one Dad sent 2 1/2 weeks ago] Joanne went to the post office on Monday and it was already there. In very good condition too! But actually it hadn’t been filed into our actual P.O. box yet.

Apparently, there was a huge pile of packages just sitting behind the desk, and when Jo asked the guy if there were any packages for B.P. 520, he said no. So she said, what about all those back there? And they happened to see your little box near the top! So they’re not very organized, and you sometimes need to ask them to check again.

Sr. Candide also told me that once she was expecting a package of educational dvd’s and when she went to pick it up, someone else had already signed for it and stolen it. So apparently they don’t really check for proper identification either. Hm. Sad.

You’ll be glad to know that today, Fr. Antoine and I rapped. Yes, as if we were from the hood. The phrase “come on” was in our reading selection for this evening, so I explained that we use it all the time and it means tons of different things. He said he thinks this is found in rap songs. I said yes, it was. Well later, we practiced the song “Make me a channel of your peace,” and he was having troubles getting the rhythm down. So I said, “let’s just say the words with the rhythm instead of singing them.” And it actually morphed into a rap complete with gansta-like hand gestures… “Make me a channel of your peace, yo yo, come on, where there is hatred let me bring your love.” Oh man alive, I wish you could have seen it…

I have already received an email back from Kim Niebuhr at St. Luke’s with a very nice service verification letter attached, and now I’m just waiting on responses from the others. Then I should be all ready to volunteer at the hospital! I’m so so so happy about this! Yaaaaay!

Ok well tomorrow I go with Sr. Charlotte to Rubavu for  Partonage, and we leave at 5:40am. So time for bed.

Urukundo,
